Border Security Station

Initial Requirements for Courses

In order to participate in the course, as a minimum, the trainees must have completed;

  1. Basic police training,
  2. Having a healthy body,
  3. Having a sufficient level of education

to follow the training. As a result of the tests and evaluations to be made, the trainees who get passing grade are accepted to the training.

Training Subjects
In Border Security Stations Basic Training Programme, trainings are given in main subjects of;

  1. Basic and combat physical training,
  2. Mechanical marksmanship and shooting training,
  3. Individual combat trainings,
  4. Border watch services,
  5. Protection against raids and sabotages,
  6. Border intelligence missions,
  7. Station security missions,
  8. Security measures to be applied in ensuring border security,
  9. Column operation; reconnaissance, ambush, and recovery from ambush

Abilities to be Gained After the Training
At the end of the course, trainees should be able to;

  1. Apply border security techniques,
  2. Apply combat techniques and tactics,
  3. Achieve the physical strength and superior physical competence required by the combat conditions,
  4. Perform accurate shooting skills with existing weapons,
  5. Reach the level of knowledge and skill to perform border security station missions.

“Border Security Stations Basic Training Certificate” is given to those who are successful as a result of the test and evaluation.

Duration of course

Border security stations training consist of a total of 1 week programme as theoretical, training in simulation systems and applied training.

National Police Organizations generally contain many different units. One of the most functional units of "A Police Organization" is Special Operations Unit as the striking power of tactical operations. The function of this unit is to perform counter-terrorism operations and rescue/save hostages in urban areas or from public transportation means such as ships, planes or trains.

Initial Requirements for "A Police Special Operations Course"

In order to be accepted into the course, candidates must;

  1. Complete 2500 meters run with 10 kg backpack in 15 minutes or less
  2. Perform %50 (+) achievement at Infantry Rifle and Pistol
  3. Complete 150 meters freestyle non-stop swim
  4. Be younger than 32 years of age
  5. Be volunteer to join the course

Candidates may apply for the course anytime after they graduated from Police Preparation Schools or Academies as long as they perform the initial requirements.

Qualifications to be Gained at the End of the Course

At the end of the course, Candidates get qualified to;

  1. Show sufficient physical condition to perform all kinds of operations
  2. Know Major Shooting Techniques
  3. Know Advanced Shooting Techniques and perform sharpshooting
  4. Know Demolition Techniques and Explosive Types and how to defeat trap mechanism
  5. Know and Execute Protection Techniques
  6. Perform Waterborne Operations
  7. Perform marching and moving in demanding environments/conditions and use vehicles
  8. Execute Hostage Rescue/Saving Techniques in urban areas or in transportation means such as plane, ship etc..
  9. Know Raid and Counter-Raid Techniques and Sabotages
  10. Know First Aid Techniques

Candidates who show success on final tests and examinations at the end of the course are awarded with "POLICE SPECIAL OPERATIONS COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE".

Initial Requirements for Courses

In order to attend the course, the training status of the trainees in the subjects of “Individual Police Training” should be checked with the level of knowledge, skills and ability and the training and shooting tests to be carried out.

  2. Mechanical and Marksmanship Training; test and instruction shooting on 25m
  3. Finding direction and range estimation, land use, fortification, surveillance and reconnaissance, concealment and camouflage, marking management etc.
  4. 7200 meters run with 20 kg rucksack in 52 minutes or less,
  5. Conducting Shooting Missions with Light Arms (achieving a minimum of 60% success in pistol and rifle shooting)

Trainees showing success during tests of above requirements are accepted into the Urban Warfare Operations Training programmes.

Training Topics

Trainees taken to the Advanced Individual Combat Training are equipped with light weapons and equipment allocated by their own unit for each trainee; in order to be equipped with maps, compass, hand binoculars, etc. with other training materials, in training simulation systems and then in the urban warfare area operations training and shooting facilities, by expert trainers in order to be clearly understood by trainees. They are trained in these subjects;

  1. Leadership training,
  2. Urban warfare techniques and tactics,
  3. Reconnaissance and intelligence
  4. Map reading; drawing sketch,
  5. Using drone,
  6. Photo and video evaluation techniques,
  7. Range estimation, target acquisition and description methods.
  8. Concealment and camouflage,
  9. Demolition,
  10. Setting up trap and getting rid of trap methods,
  11. Team operation in urban area and buildings,
  12. Management and administration by signaling; being able to use means of communication,
  13. First Aid

Capabilities to be earned at the End of the Course

The trainees gain the following abilities as a result of the Urban Warfare Operations Training;

  1. Operation techniques in urban warfare areas,
  2. Target acquisition and evaluation from photo, sketch and video,
  3. Building trapping and getting rid of the trapped area techniques,
  4. Requesting close air fire support from the vehicles (helicopter, AUAV, aircraft) methods,
  5. Requesting support from land fire support from the vehicles (artillery and mortars) methods

At the end of the course, those who are successful as a result of the test and evaluation are given a “Urban Warfare Operations Expert Certificate”.

Course Duration

Urban warfare operations training consists of a total of 45 days of theoretical, practical and simulation programme.
